Are you ready to start your successful nonprofit? At Baylor Consulting, we have a variety of solutions to meet your needs. Click here to schedule a complimentary consultation! (Descriptions of each service can be found below).
Nonprofit Incorporation (by state)
The first step for any nonprofit is to incorporate itself in a particular state. When you hire Baylor Consulting, we will handle all of the paperwork involved in setting up your organization. This includes filing with the Secretary of State and your state’s charities’ commission (if applicable). Additionally, we will apply for your federal tax identification number and provide a checklist of filing and registration requirements that must be followed to keep your nonprofit in good standing.
Please note that the filing costs & mailing fees are not included.
Bylaws & Conflict of Interest Policy
The bylaws and conflict of interest policy are cornerstone document that every nonprofit must have. Bylaws provide a roadmap for your board of directors, ensuring that they stay within rules and regulations and run the nonprofit effectively and efficiently.
The conflict of interest policy protects the nonprofit should anyone close to the nonprofit attempt to place their personal interests ahead of the needs of the nonprofit. (For example, a director desiring to sell products directly to a nonprofit could be considered as creating a conflict of interest because he stands to gain a financial benefit based on his position within the organization). By hiring Baylor Consulting, we will protect your nonprofit from these risks by preparing a policy for your directors & key personnel to sign.
Logo Design, Business Card & Style Guide
Your logo is your nonprofit's mark; the way in which individuals can recognize your nonprofit and its mission. For this reason, it's important to have a compelling logo that attracts key stakeholders. When it comes to creative projects, collaboration is key. The more fluid our communications, the more powerfully we can achieve your goals.
To deliver this outcome, our process has 4 stages:
- 60-Minute Creative Session (see above)
- Logo Design
- 3 Rounds of Client Comments
- Finalization (including business card design & a document with recommended fonts and colors to keep your brand consistent throughout all communications).
The business plan is a foundational document that fully explains your nonprofit’s mission, vision, goals, objectives, budget and more. Your business plan will have many uses, including:
- convincing individuals to join your board of directors
- directing important decisions that will determine the success of your nonprofit
- persuading major donors to fund you
When you engage at or with Baylor Consulting, you can rest assured that you will receive a well-written, clearly communicated business plan for key stakeholders.
IRS Nonprofit Application
The IRS rules are startlingly complex, with particular scrutiny given to tax exempt organizations. As a result, it is very common for nonprofits to delegate tax exempt applications to experts.
Having advised hundreds of clients on how to successfully acquire tax exempt status, we promise to provide a detailed review of your situation and complete your IRS application for nonprofit status. By engaging trusted experts with the application, you can greatly reduce the time for getting a successful response from the IRS.
Please note that the IRS application fee and mailing cost is not included, and ranges between $275 and $600.
60-Minute Creative Session (Logo & Business Card)
Before we put pen to paper (or more accurately, pixel to computer screen), we will take you through a detailed discovery process to get the creative juices flowing. This is a brainstorming session where we ask strategically targeted questions to fully understand the needs for your logo and business card. Once we are clear on the look and feel that you are going for, we will get to work on designing your logo, business card and style guide.
You as a client will benefit from this process, as it will help you think of ideas in a creatively structured way. You will be amazed by how quickly and effectively we capture your vision!
Strategic Planning (2 75-minute sessions)
In order to attain success as a nonprofit, it’s important to apply business strategy and objectives. With Bea's expertise as a nonprofit specialist and Erica's expertise as a business strategist, you will develop realistic goals that you desire to achieve within the first 3-5 years. The session takes place via recorded videoconference and provides us the opportunity to deeply analyze your objectives to ensure that they are feasible.
During the session, we will not only discuss proven strategies to meet your goals, but also necessary action steps for you to take. Previous clients have reported that the strategic planning session provides a wealth of clarity and direction for their mission. (A recording of the session will be sent so that you will always have it to refer back to).
